Antivirus Blocking System Restore

You may get an error "System Restore did not complete successfully" while performing a System Restore on your Windows. Although, it will not change your System's files or settings.

Causes

The error may arise due to Sophos Home's Tamper protection ( A security feature that prevents the software from manipulation by other applications).

Solutions 1: Uninstall and reinstall Sophos Home after completing System Restore. If this method doesn't work, move to the next method.

Uninstall Sophos Home (On Windows 8 & 10)

  1. Go to the Start button, search for appwiz.cpl, and hit enter to open it. 
  2. A list of installed programs will appear. Double-click on Sophos Home from the list. 
  3. Then, click the Uninstall button and wait for the process to complete.

Reinstall Sophos Home (On Windows 8 & 10)

  1. Once you uninstalled the program, restart your computer. 
  2. Then, go to the official website of Sophos Home and log in with your credentials. 
  3. Now, press the Install button shown. Otherwise, copy the link given below and send it to the device that needs to be secured. 
  4. After that, download the Sophos Home installer and wait for the process to end. 
  5. Locate the installer in your Downloads folder and double-click on it to run. 
  6. Then, click Yes on the User Account Control. 
  7. Let the initial download complete. 
  8. Press Let's Start, read the terms and conditions, and tap Agree. 
  9. Select an appropriate option to Sign in. 
  10. You will be assisted with signing in to your Sophos Home account. 
  11. Then, tap Continue. 
  12. You have reinstalled Sophos Home successfully.
