Add a device to my Sophos account


To add a device to your Sophos account, it's recommended to create a group of one or more devices. Then, you can easily assign each device to a device group to manage the devices.

Create device group

To create a device group:

  1. Go to the menu and tap on Device Groups under the Manage option. 
  2. Then, click “Create device group.”
  3. Now an Edit device group page will appear. Enter your name and a description of the device group. 
  4. Go to the compliance policies and choose the compliance policies applied to corporate and personal devices. 
  5. Lastly, click Save.

Add a Device to Sophos Mobile

  1. Go to the Menu and tap Devices under the Manage option. A Devices page will appear.
  2. Then, tap Add and choose a platform from the Add device manually section. Then, an Edit device page will appear. 
  3. Once you are on the Edit device page, enter the device details given below
    • Enter a unique name of the device in the Name field
    • Enter a description of the new device in the Description field
    • Go to the Owner option and select either Corporate or Personal. 
    • Enter your email address in the given field. 
    • Enter the phone number of your new device in the phone number field. 
    • Then, go to the Device group and select the device group to which you are assigning the device. 
  4. To add a user to the device, tap the Edit user assignment icon near the User field. 
  5. Then, click Assign User to Device
  6. If you want to add custom properties to the add device, navigate under Custom Properties.
  7. Now, click Add Custom Property
  8. Once you have selected all the necessary device details, click Save.

Go to the Manage option under the menu option and click Devices. Then, the Devices page will appear. Now click on Add and select a platform under the Add device manually section in the Menu.

You can use up to 10 computers with your Sophos Home Premium account. When you complete the limit and want protection on another computer, you must first remove the existing computer from the dashboard. Either you can purchase a new Sophos Home premium license with a new email address.

Both computers should be registered with a MySophos account to transfer Sophos to a new computer via the automatic or manual method, To register a device on MySophos account:
  1. First, log in to your MySophos account. 
  2. Then, click Network Protection. 
  3. Now, click Register Device. 
  4. In the next step, put your device's serial number and the required details. 
  5. Lastly, tap Verify.
