Having trouble with your AVG Antivirus

If your antivirus software isn't working, your system is no longer protected from the virus and other potential malware. Hence, it is necessary to troubleshoot AVG antivirus before moving to download a file or program on your computer.

Causes

1. Conflicting programs in the background.
2. Your antivirus software is not updated.

Solution 1: Close the Conflicting Programs

Along with the antivirus software, certain programs may conflict with the system and prevent your software from working correctly. To resolve this issue, you will have to visit the official website of AVG to check for the updated version of the conflicting programs. Otherwise, if you notice a program on your PC that is interfering with the AVG software, remove this program with the help of its uninstaller. 

Solution 2: Switch Your PC to Safe Mode

1. Your PC may prevent AVG antivirus from working correctly if it's infected with viruses, malware, etc. 
2. In this case, you must restart your PC, swipe it from the top right corner of your screen, and switch it to Safe Mode. 
3. Then, go to Settings and select PC settings. 
4. Under the Advanced Startup option, click on Restart Now. 
5. After that, tap on Troubleshoot in the Choose an option window. 
6. Next, tap on Startup Settings and then tap Restart. 
7. Once your PC restarts, select Safe Mode from the given list of startup options. 
8. When the window starts loading, open AVG. 
9. Then, choose your virus scan preferences and click Start Scan to perform a virus scan. 
10. After the scanning process, restart your system and open the AVG to check if it's working correctly.
