Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Yes, Norton is one of the few security companies that protect your System from malware and other threats. Antivirus traditionally uses only signature-based detection to detect malware and other threats. But Norton also uses behavior-based detection along with signature-based detection to detect malware. It makes Norton good at its job because it can detect malware that isn't even on the database.

Click on the Windows start button and double-click on the Norton Antivirus icon. When the Norton Antivirus starts, check the first box. If the box is green, it means your computer is secure, and if it's red, then your System is at risk, and Norton's virus scanning features may have been turned off.

Norton's full system scan takes between 30 to 120 minutes, mostly depending on the speed of your computer. If the scan needs to be completed or takes too long, you must try restarting your PC or laptop. When your computer restarts, run another scan; if the problem persists, reinstall the software using the Norton auto-fix tool.

Norton Antivirus Plus is basic; you get all the features you expect from a good antivirus, such as malware, spyware, and ransomware protection. You also get online threat protection, an intelligent firewall, password protection, and 2 GB of cloud storage. Plus, you get webcam protection and a dark web monitoring feature. Norton's higher-tier antivirus comes with LifeLock protection, credit monitoring from one credit bureau, ID Verification Monitoring, social security numbers, and credit alerts.

Norton Antivirus uses the Windows malware definition engine to power its security offerings. The virus definitions are updated multiple times to stay effective against new threats. In addition to signature scanning, Norton always watches and listens to files on your hard drive to identify unusual behavior. It ensures that your system is protected against Zero-Day attacks.
